Description

  • Lead digital journalism growth strategy across web, newsletters, search, social, audio, events, and emerging platforms.
  • Partner with editorial leaders to improve reach, engagement, loyalty, and conversion.
  • Oversee audience insights, analytics, experimentation, and performance reporting.
  • Develop strategies for newsletters, SEO, social distribution, content discovery, and reader engagement.
  • Support digital product initiatives that improve user experience and audience retention.
  • Manage a team of audience, digital, and engagement professionals.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities while maintaining editorial quality and credibility.
  • Collaborate with editorial, product, data, newsletter, social, and membership teams.

Requirements

  • Senior experience in digital journalism, audience development, editorial product, media growth, or digital publishing strategy.
  • Strong understanding of publishing metrics, engagement funnels, SEO, newsletters, social platforms, and audience segmentation.
  • Experience working closely with editorial teams in a quality journalism environment.
  • Ability to balance audience growth with editorial standards.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing remote teams.
  • Analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working across editorial, product, marketing, and leadership functions.
  • Experience with digital distribution across multiple channels, including web, social, audio, events, and emerging platforms (preferred).
  • Experience supporting or shaping digital product initiatives that improve user experience and retention (preferred).
