Description

  • Own the architecture and technical direction for key product areas in a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
  • Work with product, design, and data/ML teams to turn business problems into simple, robust technical solutions.
  • Drive the evolution of system architecture across APIs, services, data flows, authentication, tenancy, and integrations as the product scales.
  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs, including REST, GraphQL, and gRPC endpoints.
  • Deliver backend features end-to-end, including data schemas and business logic.
  • Partner with data scientists and MLOps/platform teams to embed data, ML, and AI capabilities into customer workflows.
  • Design APIs, data contracts, and UX flows that make ML/AI features reliable, understandable, and safe.
  • Ensure telemetry and feedback loops are in place to measure model performance and improve outcomes.
  • Champion operability through monitoring, alerting, logging, and runbooks for owned services.
  • Lead technical design reviews, mentor engineers, and help define engineering standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping data/ML/AI-powered SaaS products.
  • Strong track record of owning and shipping complex, user-facing features end-to-end in collaboration with product management and UX.
  • Experience as a senior member of technical staff guiding teams and owning critical production systems.
  • Strong proficiency with at least one backend stack such as Node.js/TypeScript, Java, Go, Rust, or similar.
  • Proficiency with Python and data analysis/modeling tools such as pandas or PyTorch.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and storage, including relational databases, caching, and basic data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with data/ML/AI concepts, including exposing ML models or LLMs as services and understanding latency, throughput, and guardrails.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus containers and infrastructure concepts like networking, scaling, and security.
  • Strong habits around testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and incremental delivery.
  • Product-minded mindset with strong communication skills and the ability to drive alignment across engineering, product, data, and go-to-market teams.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and multiplying the impact of others.
