Description

  • Lead a team of engineers building core Kalepa functionalities and external-facing APIs.
  • Set technical strategy and drive consistent delivery of team results.
  • Coach, grow, and develop engineers while helping build a high-performance culture.
  • Design and build API endpoints for customer-facing workflows.
  • Improve database performance, query performance, and overall platform stability.
  • Integrate the platform with a wide range of third-party services.
  • Translate product requirements into reliable business logic.
  • Diagnose and resolve customer issues.
  • Make hands-on coding contributions, spending about 50% of the role on engineering work.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners on complex projects and delivery tradeoffs.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of full-time engineering people management experience.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Past success hiring talented engineers at different levels.
  • Ability to make tradeoffs to ship high-quality code in a fast-growing company.
  • Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with Python, or a strong object-oriented background in another language.
  • Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda and EC2, asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments.
  • Comfort working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
  • Bonus: experience with LLMs/generative AI and distributed systems.
