Description

  • Design backend services, data models, pipelines, and evaluation loops for core systems.
  • Build reliable infrastructure around fragmented, high-value data used in insurance workflows.
  • Improve data completeness, decision transparency, and product value through backend systems.
  • Own business-critical infrastructure as part of a high-ownership Core Backend team.
  • Drive projects to completion with minimal oversight and proactive stakeholder communication.
  • Test ideas, measure results, and iterate quickly on unsolved technical problems.
  • Collaborate across the company to support better, faster, and more explainable decisions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Experience taking full ownership of work and driving projects to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Proactive communication skills, including surfacing blockers and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Comfort with experimentation, measurement, and rapid iteration.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with openness to candidates from other object-oriented language backgrounds.
  • Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda and EC2.
  • Experience with asynchronous workflows and cloud environments.
  • Comfort working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
  • Bonus: experience with LLMs or generative AI.
  • Bonus: experience with distributed systems.
