Description

  • Design and build API endpoints for customer-facing workflows.
  • Improve database and query performance to make the platform faster and more stable.
  • Integrate the platform with a wide range of third-party services.
  • Translate product requirements into reliable business logic.
  • Help diagnose and resolve customer issues.
  • Collaborate with full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers on scalable backend solutions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth and reliability of the platform.
  • Work within a small team where individual contributions have outsized impact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building external-facing APIs or designing integrations with third-party systems, ideally.
  • Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Python, Kalepa’s main stack, or a strong object-oriented programming background.
  • Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda and EC2.
  • Experience with asynchronous workflows and cloud environments.
  • Comfort working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
  • Proactive communication skills, including surfacing blockers and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Ownership mindset with the ability to drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with LLMs or generative AI is a plus.
  • Experience with distributed systems is a plus.
