Description

  • Develop and execute upgrade plans, including timing, risk assessments, mitigation strategies, rollback procedures, and handling customizations or integrations.
  • Execute GitHub Actions pipelines for upgrade deployments following SDLC practices, including off-hours work when required.
  • Coordinate release planning and execution by scheduling releases, tracking dependencies, running Go/No-Go reviews, communicating status, and documenting release notes and changelogs.
  • Recruit, manage, and coordinate canary and early-adopter environments or customers to validate releases in real-world conditions.
  • Work with the DevOps team to improve release velocity, reduce toil, and adopt progressive delivery techniques.
  • Perform upgrade readiness assessments, coordinate testing and deployment windows, and provide post-upgrade support.
  • Monitor and improve adoption metrics such as version coverage, time-to-upgrade, upgrade success rate, feature utilization, and post-upgrade support ticket reduction.
  • Write and execute SQL data modification statements, including UPDATE, INSERT, and DELETE operations, to safely change production data.
  • Perform data corrections, bulk updates, reconciliation checks, and ad hoc reporting using joins, subqueries, aggregate queries, CASE statements, and transactions.
  • Identify recurring upgrade issues and lead cross-functional initiatives to resolve them while maintaining internal documentation and release operations resources.

Requirements

  • Experience in a technical operations, release management, or customer-success-adjacent technical role such as Release Manager, Release Engineer, Technical Operations, Solutions Engineer, or DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge of modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD pipelines, continuous delivery, feature flags, canary/blue-green/rolling deployments, automated testing, and rollback strategies.
  • Intermediate SQL skills, including writing and executing UPDATE, INSERT, and DELETE statements; using joins and subqueries for data corrections; managing transactions and temporary tables; and validating data with aggregate queries.
  • Ability to understand data integrity and operational database concepts, including primary keys, foreign keys, and unique constraints.
  • Proficiency in analytics and reporting via Grafana, including dashboards and automated reporting.
  • Demonstrated ownership of high-visibility recurring deliverables such as weekly executive reports, adoption metrics tracking, or release coordination.
  • Experience driving product adoption through upgrades and managing release processes in a SaaS environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to translate technical risks and challenges into actionable internal insights and priorities.
  • Strong internal communication skills for working effectively with product, engineering, and leadership teams.
