Description

  • Assign and maintain administrative code set mappings for ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT4, and HCPCS according to production and release schedules.
  • Maintain content in alignment with code set updates and nationally recognized authoritative coding guidelines.
  • Support product release schedules and resolve identified mapping issues.
  • Perform initial mapping and quality assurance work across multiple code sets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maps and address complex customer inquiries and related calls.
  • Participate in tool testing and support release-related tasks.
  • Provide mentorship and support to developing team members.
  • Develop clear editorial content with appropriate examples and manage the editorial process.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on revenue cycle and health information management in cross-functional projects.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with US-based code sets, including ICD-10-CM/PCS, ICD-9-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
  • One of the following credentials is required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in health information management systems, or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience with medical records coding, electronic health records, and medical terminology.
  • Experience with claims edits and payor denials, preferred.
  • Recent experience coding outpatient surgery and procedures, preferred.
  • Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop structured solutions aligned to business needs and mapping standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and lead through influence across teams.
