Description

  • Translate business requirements into scalable data models and financial analytics solutions.
  • Own ambiguous data initiatives end-to-end from idea to defined deliverables.
  • Design and automate dashboards, models, and reporting systems for decision-making.
  • Build and maintain data products supporting Revenue Accounting, including revenue recognition logic.
  • Apply compliance-first design principles to support SOX, audit readiness, and data governance.
  • Implement validation, monitoring, and reconciliation frameworks to maintain data integrity.
  • Identify and drive process optimization, automation, and system enhancements across Finance and Accounting.
  • Use AI and next-generation analytics tools to improve financial data modeling, automation, and delivery.
  • Collaborate across technical and business teams to ensure financial data is accurate, reliable, and compliant.
  • Support broader systems initiatives that accelerate month-end close and improve cloud spend efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics or analytics engineering, with 7+ years preferred.
  • Strong SQL and cloud data fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, and BI tools such as Mode, Looker, or Tableau.
  • Experience building and supporting complex data pipelines with emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and traceability.
  • Familiarity with financial data structures, accounting processes, and enterprise systems such as Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, or Adaptive.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Public company experience with exposure to SOX compliance is preferred.
  • Experience in high-growth technology environments is preferred.
  • Experience implementing large-scale financial or operational systems, such as ERP or enterprise data platforms, is preferred.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting Finance and Accounting teams with scalable data solutions is preferred.
  • Cloud cost management experience, ideally in an AWS environment, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in data analytics, such as natural language SQL tools, forecasting models, or anomaly detection frameworks, is preferred.

  • Remote Flex First work model with flexibility to work from home, an office, or another location.
  • Highly market-competitive compensation.
  • Base salary range of $126,000 to $133,000 CAD for Canadian-based candidates.
  • Eligible for a new hire equity grant.
  • Eligible for annual refresh equity grants.
  • Benefits offerings available through Instacart's employee benefits program.
  • Hiring is currently open only in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia for Canadian-based candidates.
