Description

  • Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and maintain related agile artifacts.
  • Own the billing test strategy across rating, mediation, invoicing, taxation, payments, credits, adjustments, dunning, and reseller billing.
  • Design and document coverage for month-end billing cycles, cutoff and timezone boundaries, reruns, failures, and retry safety.
  • Reconcile CDR volumes with invoiced amounts and quantify the financial impact of discrepancies.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies to distinguish rating defects from mediation or switch-side issues, using SIP traces or packet captures when needed.
  • Ensure user stories have testable acceptance criteria before entering sprints.
  • Enforce requirement-to-test traceability and reviewable coverage standards.
  • Lead the automation roadmap, prioritize work by expected ROI, and review resulting test suites.
  • Define and report quality metrics including defect escape rate, coverage, defect density, and release readiness.
  • Mentor QA engineers, provide technical direction, and communicate product quality risks using data.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of QA experience, including hands-on work with a production billing, rating, or payments system.
  • Working knowledge of rating and usage billing, including rate decks, prefix matching, billing increments, minimum durations, connection fees, and destination zones.
  • Experience with subscription billing, including recurring charges, proration, upgrades, downgrades, trials, promotions, and discounts.
  • Experience with invoicing, usage details, credit memos, adjustments, refunds, and dunning.
  • Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, and window functions, for independently reconciling usage with invoices.
  • Understanding of decimal and floating-point precision, rounding modes, and line-level versus invoice-level rounding.
  • Experience leading or mentoring QA engineers and challenging requirements or releases with evidence and metrics.
  • Proficiency with a formal Test Management System and Jira; Allure TestOps experience is relevant.
  • Professional or advanced spoken and written English, with reliable overlap with US Eastern business hours; candidates must be based in LATAM and submit a CV in English.
  • Preferred experience includes SIP/VoIP billing flows, Python/Pytest, Playwright, REST API testing, payment gateways, telecom tax engines, multi-currency and FX, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
