Description

  • Develop healthcare-related promotional and educational materials such as fact sheets, flyers, toolkits, and campaign content for internal and external audiences.
  • Draft audience-centered messaging with clinical and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, cultural responsiveness, and adherence to plain-language and health literacy guidelines.
  • Create digital assets including graphics, infographics, and data visualizations for reports, dashboards, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
  • Design and maintain a production schedule for communications materials and coordinate deliverable timelines and internal reviews.
  • Ensure materials comply with federal agency branding standards and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Produce final deliverables in editable and PDF formats.
  • Support development and maintenance of a Strategic Communications and Engagement Plan and content calendar across multiple workstreams.
  • Coordinate communications across program offices to ensure consistent messaging on objectives, progress, and outcomes.
  • Assist with executive briefing packages and monthly leadership progress reports for senior government stakeholders.
  • Maintain version control over communication artifacts, branding libraries, and compliance documentation in line with federal security and data handling requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Communications, Public Health, Marketing, Graphic Design, English, or a closely related field.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to handle sensitive government information in accordance with federal requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and professionally for diverse audiences with attention to health literacy and plain-language standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and comfort using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a hybrid remote team across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Prior experience or coursework in public health communications, health literacy, or federal/military-focused outreach preferred.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards and federal communications or branding requirements preferred.
  • Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva for Enterprise, or with data visualization platforms preferred.
  • Experience producing digital assets, infographics, or visual communications for healthcare, nonprofit, or government clients preferred.
  • Familiarity with content calendars, editorial workflows, or communications production schedules preferred.
  • Experience supporting or working within a federal health agency or VA/DoD environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of health promotion, awareness campaign development, or trauma-informed messaging principles preferred.
