Description

  • Lead two engineering squads responsible for site reliability, cloud infrastructure, observability, and production operations.
  • Drive operational consistency and help ensure Hudl engineers can build on a highly available, scalable, and secure platform.
  • Work closely with engineers to deliver high-quality platform architecture and system design.
  • Partner with senior engineering leaders and QA to align platform work with product strategy and adoption goals.
  • Manage approximately eight engineers, supporting their growth, wellness, and performance.
  • Build and sustain a healthy, high-performing team culture.
  • Encourage the team to use AI tools and modern technologies to improve how work gets done.
  • Contribute technical leadership and stay deeply involved in architecture and system design decisions.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience in engineering management.
  • Background as an individual contributor or tech lead is preferred.
  • Strong technical background with experience architecting complex systems.
  • Experience using AWS primitives.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Ability to build trust with engineers through technical credibility.
  • Comfort using AI to improve workflows and support technology adoption.
  • Experience with additional languages or tools beyond the core stack is a plus.
  • Previous experience with platform engineering and site reliability is highly desirable.
  • Must live near Hudl’s London office or be based remotely in the UK.

  • Base salary range of £76,000 to £127,000 GBP.
