Description

  • Own the end-to-end architecture strategy and technical execution for the platform’s resilience, high availability, and disaster recovery lifecycle.
  • Design and deliver technical solutions that improve platform availability, resiliency, and disaster response.
  • Define business continuity guardrails and fault-tolerance standards across global infrastructure.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination for multi-region disaster preparedness across cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Design automated failover mechanisms and mitigation strategies to eliminate single points of failure.
  • Champion chaos engineering practices and launch the organization’s first chaos engineering program.
  • Build and implement high availability architectures, including active-active clustering, global load balancing, and real-time database replication.
  • Partner with engineering teams to embed self-healing and automated recovery into core deliverables.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and risks to maintain uptime and meet customer SLA requirements.
  • Build a foundational resiliency engineering framework and platform-wide standards from scratch.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of HA engineering experience across cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and on-premises environments.
  • Proven ability to evangelize resiliency standards and influence cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Hands-on expertise with real-time data replication, database clustering, and automated zero-downtime traffic failover.
  • Advanced proficiency with Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure as code.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Linux internals and Kubernetes (K8s).
  • Hands-on experience managing hybrid networking topologies, including BGP routing, DNS management, Anycast, and CDNs.
  • Ability to translate high-level uptime requirements into a technical roadmap and execute the engineering work.
  • Experience supporting SaaS products (preferred).
  • Experience with incident management and post mortems (preferred).
  • Knowledge of observability and monitoring best practices (preferred).
  • Experience operating within public clouds such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (preferred).
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure as code (preferred).
