Description

  • Define and own the software and data strategy, translating company goals into a measurable technical roadmap.
  • Oversee the full software stack beyond the device, including the mobile app, backend, data infrastructure, website, Shopify e-commerce stack, and CRM integrations.
  • Design and maintain a scalable, secure, multilingual, multi-market architecture across Hilo’s digital systems.
  • Build centralized data infrastructure, pipelines, and analytics foundations that unify data from app, CRM, marketing, and e-commerce systems.
  • Establish best practices for CI/CD, testing, versioning, documentation, uptime, and technical quality.
  • Ensure compliance, data protection, and information security across software and data systems, working closely with Quality & Regulatory teams.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate the engineering team in Serbia, while also managing external partners and freelancers.
  • Drive a performance-oriented culture based on accountability, clarity, continuous improvement, and delivery against KPIs.
  • Partner with product, design, and growth teams to translate business goals into technical execution.
  • Embed automation and AI tools into development, deployment, monitoring, and customer data workflows to improve scalability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Based in Europe in a CET or GMT timezone.
  • Proven software engineering leadership experience in subscription-based, data-heavy, or app-first businesses.
  • Track record of building or scaling reliable software and data platforms in high-growth or multi-market environments.
  • Experience with multilingual, multi-region infrastructures and diverse technology stacks.
  • Deep expertise in cloud architectures, data systems, mobile platforms, and system integrations.
  • Strategic, KPI-driven mindset with the ability to translate business goals into technical outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of AI applications, data operations, and automation frameworks.
  • Inspiring leader who can define pragmatic goals and hold teams accountable.
  • Experience operating in a regulated market is highly valued.
  • Ability to lead collaboratively and work effectively with product and cross-functional teams.
