Description

  • Implement and optimize data access patterns for large-scale systems using databases and search technologies such as ElasticSearch, Google Firestore, MongoDB Atlas, ClickHouse, and Redis.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune database instances to maintain sub-second latency and operational stability.
  • Design and build high-performance components that handle terabytes of data.
  • Instrument, benchmark, and optimize query paths, indexing, memory and CPU usage, and storage layouts.
  • Develop and maintain reusable frameworks, SDKs, and platform services, with emphasis on Node.js and Go.
  • Participate in design reviews and follow engineering best practices to maintain technical quality.
  • Collaborate with product and platform teams to define and implement best-practice data-access patterns and meet SLAs.
  • Support the operational health of database environments, including backup and restore, disaster recovery, security, and compliance across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience in backend services and data-intensive systems.
  • Mandatory proficiency in Node.js or GoLang for scripting and debugging.
  • Hands-on experience optimizing and scaling systems using cloud-managed databases and related technologies such as MongoDB Atlas, ElasticSearch, Firestore, MongoDB, ClickHouse, and Redis.
  • Proven experience with at least one large-scale database technology for SDE 2, or multiple database technologies such as MongoDB, ClickHouse, and ElasticSearch for SDE 3.
  • Strong coding ability with clean, testable code in at least one programming language.
  • Solid understanding of SQL fundamentals; experience with relational engines is a plus.
  • Understanding of distributed systems principles such as CAP, consistency, and consensus, plus observability best practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, containers like Docker and Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible for database automation.
  • Experience with ClickHouse-based real-time analytics or ElasticSearch-powered search at scale is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with streaming or ETL tools such as PubSub, Kafka, Pulsar, Spark, or Flink is preferred.
  • Exposure to AI concepts for database problem-solving is a plus.
