Description

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services, APIs, and integrations for the caregiver platform.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performing technical solutions.
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews to uphold engineering standards, security best practices, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative improvements.
  • Contribute to platform modernization efforts, including cloud-native architectures, microservices, and automation practices.
  • Implement secure coding practices and support compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy requirements, and security standards.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and operational health.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and engineering best practices to improve platform capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent significant industry experience.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend application development in a product-focused organization.
  • Experience designing and delivering large-scale, high-performance, highly available backend services and distributed systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in the healthcare domain with understanding of healthcare systems, data privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including microservices, serverless architectures, and cloud-native design patterns.
  • Proficiency in C#/.NET and Python, with experience building and operating high-volume, production-grade APIs and services.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and SQL Server, plus NoSQL systems, and the ability to diagnose performance and scalability bottlenecks.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of application security, identity and access management, and secure coding practices, with experience building compliant systems such as HIPAA- and OWASP-aligned solutions.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor AI or GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-enabled solutions, particularly within healthcare or patient-care workflows, is preferred.
  • Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular is preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and driving DevOps practices, including CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, participate in design discussions, and promote engineering best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including overnight travel.
  • Must be located in the US and able to work fully remote in the EST or CST time zones.
