Description

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with external vendors and system integrators for automated order fulfillment solutions.
  • Lead the design of new technology implementations in distribution centers, including RFQs and requirements documentation.
  • Drive data analysis efforts to design automation projects and measure their success.
  • Optimize distribution center layouts, material flows, and automation equipment.
  • Work autonomously with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure business needs are addressed in new system designs.
  • Own business case justification for new technology investments and capital expenditures.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and team members to strengthen technical and soft skills.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear documentation and presentations.
  • Deliver polished reports and presentations that support business decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in multi-site industrial distribution, manufacturing, or processing environments preferred.
  • Experience with warehouse conveyance systems such as right angle transfers, MDR, sortation, and spirals.
  • Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and understanding of how equipment and systems operate.
  • Experience with Warehouse Control Systems (WCS/WES) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Experience with SQL, including Snowflake and MSSQL.
  • Experience with advanced data visualization tools such as Tableau or Grafana.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to analyze cost reduction opportunities through automation implementation and cost/benefit analysis.
