Description

  • Lead an engineering team end-to-end, including hiring, coaching, performance growth, and team culture.
  • Co-own the roadmap with a product manager for a meaningful area of the insurance platform.
  • Make technical direction decisions, including architecture, build-versus-buy trade-offs, and reliability targets.
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams across benefits, eligibility, claims, corrections, patient billing, payer partnerships, and the data platform.
  • Own operational health, including incident response, on-call sustainability, and predictable planning and delivery.
  • Work closely with engineers through design reviews, pairing, and hands-on technical contribution.
  • Guide systems that turn raw insurance data into real-time answers about coverage, cost, and payment.
  • Help teams scale tools and workflows that support high-volume operational work.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineers.
  • Experience building systems that other teams depend on, such as services, APIs, pipelines, or third-party integrations, at meaningful scale.
  • Strong ability to reason about failure modes and treat reliability as a core feature.
  • Comfort evaluating where automation, prediction, or AI should and should not be used.
  • Ability to give direct, kind feedback and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Mission-driven interest in improving access to mental health care.
  • Healthcare, insurance, claims, or payments platform experience is preferred.
  • Experience partnering with operations or support teams to build scalable tooling is preferred.
  • Production ML or data-platform fluency is preferred.
  • Scaleup experience from Series B through D is preferred.
  • Expectation to remain an active technical contributor rather than a purely people-focused manager.
