Description

  • Draft, comment on, negotiate, prepare, and administer commercial contracts, especially brand license agreements.
  • Create resources, playbooks, standard procedures, and policies.
  • Prepare and present internal presentations.
  • Respond to legal inquiries from company departments, subsidiaries, and affiliates.
  • Review marketing and promotional materials for compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Provide overflow support for services agreements, SaaS, software licenses, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Provide responsive support to client escalations on contract status and request processes.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience supporting legal functions and working with clients in revenue-generating businesses, preferably video games.
  • Experience drafting, transacting, and negotiating rights licensing language, royalty structures, and minimum guarantee mechanics.
  • Strong foundation in copyright and trademark law, with working knowledge of legal areas in creative and technology spaces.
  • Strong aptitude for technology adoption, including AI, workflow management platforms, and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated initiative in streamlining processes and turning repetitive requests into repeatable workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working with engineering, marketing, production, finance, royalties, business, and legal teams.
  • Experience supporting audit controls and explaining contract term interoperability within operational systems.
  • Familiarity with employment status classification, including performing and artist union agreements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams, Jira, Confluence, and similar tools.
  • Comfort supporting clients across different time zones.
  • Exceptional ability to organize multiple projects.
  • Current knowledge of the video game industry, content distribution methods, business models, brand licensing, consumer protection, marketing, privacy regulations, and the AI landscape (preferred).
  • Eagerness to learn new areas of law (preferred).
  • French business fluency (preferred).
