Description

  • Supervise and execute outsourced accounting engagements centered on cloud-based accounting systems.
  • Manage monthly close activities, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, financial analysis, quality review, and financial reporting.
  • Record transactions in the general ledger and resolve account variances using accrual basis accounting.
  • Coordinate engagement phases with partners or managers and review working papers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and the partner in charge about progress, issues, resolutions, and business concerns.
  • Provide supervision, on-the-job training, guidance, and constructive feedback to assigned staff.
  • Assist clients in understanding financial reporting and other accounting matters.
  • Ensure deliverables are prepared in accordance with professional and firm standards.
  • Monitor engagement time budgets and anticipate problem areas and questions.
  • Support staff development through performance evaluations, recruiting, and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field such as economics or finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting or private industry with increasing engagement complexity and scope.
  • CPA license is desirable but not required.
  • Experience with nonprofit organizations is preferred.
  • Prior CPA firm experience is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage Intacct is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based applications such as Bill.com, Tallie, and Expensify is preferred.
  • Ability to organize projects, set priorities, and delegate tasks in changing circumstances.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive firm and client information.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with employees, partners, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to mentor and train staff.
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn new skills as a team player.

  • Salary range of $110,000 to $120,000.
