Description

  • Influence the team roadmap and contribute to personal career objectives.
  • Collaborate with teammates to deliver new features that solve customer problems and improve operations at scale.
  • Drive projects from initial idea through deployment and operational support for customers.
  • Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems with ownership of reliability, performance, and availability.
  • Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations and own the services the team runs.
  • Write and review pull requests and design documents.
  • Support other team members and contribute to design discussions.
  • Identify and implement performance and reliability improvements based on production operations.
  • Contribute to open-source projects beyond the team’s immediate scope when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Remote applicants must be based in Spain, Germany, the UK, or Sweden.
  • Solid experience with at least one programming language; Go is used, and familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar is helpful.
  • Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and brainstorming through customer shipping in a self-driven way.
  • Experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience in systems engineering.
  • Experience with on-call work and the DevOps model.
  • Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
  • Familiarity with observability systems and knowing when to use metrics, logs, and traces to debug problems.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving approach with the ability to break complex work into modular solutions and iterate quickly.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working in a fully remote squad.
  • Bonus points for Kubernetes experience.
  • Bonus points for experience with queue systems, such as the Kafka protocol.
  • Bonus points for experience using Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles.
  • Bonus points for exposure to microservices and distributed systems.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with infrastructure as code.
