Description

  • Deliver new backend functionality with the team and use results to iterate and improve.
  • Contribute to and review design documents for upcoming features.
  • Own and operate services as part of on-call rotations.
  • Mentor and support other team members through design discussions and collaboration.
  • Share ideas and technical knowledge across teams and disciplines.
  • Work closely with other squads in the Grafana Division.
  • Contribute to open-source projects beyond the immediate team scope when relevant.
  • Help influence the roadmap and shape career objectives.
  • Analyze problems, design modular solutions, build MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate.

Requirements

  • Solid backend development experience, ideally with Go.
  • Good understanding of storage solutions, especially relational databases such as MySQL, SQLite, and Postgres.
  • Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and idea generation through to shipping a product.
  • Experience writing clean, robust, performant software that is maintainable by others.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative, asynchronous environment.
  • Ability to work on complex technical solutions and break them into iterative delivery loops.
  • Experience with open-source software or commercial open-source companies is a plus.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, or Developer Efficiency work streams is a plus.
  • Familiarity with on-call, operations, or SRE tasks, and exposure to microservices or distributed systems is a plus.

  • Base compensation range in Germany of €97,000 to €121,000.
