Description

  • Influence the team roadmap and shape personal career objectives.
  • Work with the team to deliver new features and iterate based on results.
  • Drive projects from initial idea through customer operations.
  • Build, operate, and maintain critical systems with ownership of reliability, performance, and availability.
  • Participate in the team’s follow-the-sun on-call rotations and own the services being run.
  • Support teammates by contributing to design discussions, PR reviews, and design documents.
  • Contribute to open-source projects beyond the immediate team scope when appropriate.
  • Improve performance and reliability based on production learnings.
  • Write and review automated release rollouts for the squad’s systems.
  • Learn the cloud product, customer needs, and a large distributed codebase.

Requirements

  • Remote candidates must be located in United States time zones.
  • Experience with at least one programming language; Go is used, with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar also relevant.
  • Some experience delivering projects as part of a larger team, from requirements gathering through feature shipping.
  • Some experience developing software that runs in the cloud or in systems engineering.
  • Some experience with on-call work and the DevOps model.
  • Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
  • Some familiarity with observability systems and knowing when to use metrics, logs, and traces to debug problems.
  • Some experience using LLMs for day-to-day coding tasks and understanding a codebase.
  • Good communication and time management skills for a fully remote environment.
  • Bonus: experience with Kubernetes, queue systems such as Kafka, Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles, microservices and distributed systems, or infrastructure as code.

  • Base salary range of USD 127,651 to USD 153,180 in the United States.
