Description

  • Diagnose and resolve service-impacting issues across the GFiber network, from backbone fiber to central office or remote terminal equipment.
  • Install, restore, and maintain central office facilities and monitoring equipment.
  • Install, restore, and maintain wireless radios and supporting equipment.
  • Install and test optical line terminals, optical switches, routers, and related network devices.
  • Make cross-connects in telecom spaces and perform cabling, installation, construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting work.
  • Troubleshoot inside wiring and power systems, including fiber, Ethernet, coaxial, twisted pair cabling, DC power plants, and UPS systems.
  • Navigate complex customer interactions with professionalism and strong client service.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Execute operational processes and procedures with attention to detail.
  • Support team learning and help build troubleshooting proficiency across complex connectivity issues.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in Fiber to the Home (FTTH) or Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) network construction and/or fiber network deployments.
  • 3 years of experience in rack and stack work, server stanchion assembly, telemetry closet work, patch panels, or telecom headend work.
  • 3 years of experience with physical layer networking components, including optical line terminals, optical switches, twisted pair copper cabling, patch panels, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs of equipment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check that meets company standards.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, on-call rotations, varying shifts, and 10% domestic travel.
  • Ability to operate Google Workspace and Salesforce applications (preferred).
  • Experience installing and maintaining Juniper, Adtran, or Nokia equipment (preferred).
  • Experience working with utility companies, permitting offices, and outside plant FTTH deployments (preferred).
  • 3 years of experience with fiber to the business-to-business (B2B) or enterprise-level fiber network construction/operations (preferred).
  • Experience troubleshooting Ethernet network issues related to routers, switches, and hubs (preferred).
  • Experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining point-to-point or omnidirectional wireless networks (preferred).
  • Experience managing relationships with contractors and vendors of varying types and sizes (preferred).

Benefits

  • Base salary of $35/hr to $38/hr, plus bonus and benefits.
