Description

  • Define and execute GoodLeap’s Virtual Power Plant and DERMS strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Build and lead a cross-functional team across sales, operations, product, and regulatory affairs.
  • Lead business development and sales with utilities, grid operators, and community choice aggregators.
  • Negotiate and close contracts for demand response, capacity, and grid services participation.
  • Represent GoodLeap in regulatory proceedings, stakeholder groups, and industry forums.
  • Develop VPP offerings that create value for customers, utilities, and GoodLeap.
  • Partner with technology vendors to build scalable and reliable VPP operations.
  • Ensure compliance with CPUC, FERC, and relevant state-level market rules.
  • Build strategic alliances with OEMs, aggregators, and financing partners.
  • Track, analyze, and report on VPP performance, market potential, and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in energy, including 5+ years in utility sales, grid services, or DER program management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing large-scale utility or CCA contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of VPPs, DER aggregation, demand response, and grid services markets.
  • Familiarity with California energy markets, including CPUC and CAISO, plus at least one other major U.S. energy market.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Benefits

  • Annual base compensation of $300,000 to $325,000.
