Description

  • Lead technical discovery, demos, and validation to show how GitLab’s platform meets customer needs.
  • Own the technical evaluation process, including solution design, proof of concept/proof of value initiatives, workshop design, and tender or audit support.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and regional sales teams to shape account strategies for new business and expansion.
  • Build trusted relationships with technical practitioners and business leaders and help turn customers into advocates.
  • Advise customers on modern software development, CI/CD, security, and cloud practices to improve return on investment.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing by sharing feedback, use cases, and competitive insights.
  • Maintain and extend technical expertise in GitLab, DevSecOps, AI, and cloud technologies.
  • Create reusable examples, best-practice guidance, and technical collateral for customers and partners.
  • Invest in continuous learning, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within the Solutions Architect team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Experience guiding customers through solution design and evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including modern DevSecOps practices and CI/CD workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab or comparable source control, CI/CD, and collaboration platforms.
  • Practical knowledge of cloud computing concepts and related deployment, security, and operations topics.
  • Ability to lead technical evaluations such as proofs of concept or proofs of value.
  • Experience contributing to tenders or audits and designing or running workshops or value stream assessments.
  • Clear technical communication and presentation skills for both technical practitioners and senior decision makers.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships, listen with empathy, and advocate for customers internally.
  • Motivation to keep developing professionally and deepen expertise in GitLab and related technologies.
