Description

  • Lead a team of managers in the Solutions Architects organization and develop them as leaders.
  • Set strategy and operations for technical evaluations, workshops, demos, and proof-of-concept engagements.
  • Improve processes, metrics, and KPIs to strengthen win rates and support scalable execution.
  • Partner with Sales and Partner teams on account strategy, priorities, and customer support.
  • Build and maintain relationships with technical sponsors and executive stakeholders at key customers.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Services, and Sales Operations to improve engagement models and feedback loops.
  • Support enterprise sales leadership across the US, Canada, and LATAM on account plans, strategies, and quarterly goals.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop an exceptional team of Solutions Architects and managers.
  • Drive organizational change by identifying gaps, creating structure, and leading transformation proactively.

Requirements

  • Progressive leadership experience, including substantial time as a second- or third-line leader managing managers in technical sales, Solutions Architecture, or Sales Engineering.
  • Experience leading teams of managers in complex, distributed organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and rapid organizational change.
  • Strong experience improving strategy and operations for technical assessment processes, technical evaluations, and team enablement.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices and tools, including agile and DevOps ways of working.
  • Technical familiarity with cloud and security concepts, including Kubernetes, Docker, SAST, DAST, AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience selling technical solutions to technical practitioners, managers, and executive stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to partner across Sales, Partners, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, and Services.
  • A self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset that can create structure without a playbook.
  • Experience with AI-enabled workflows is expected as GitLab asks team members to incorporate AI into daily work.

  • United States base salary range of $244,200 to $409,500 USD.
