Description

  • Design and build end-to-end features across the Gearset platform, from front-end to back-end.
  • Enhance and expand platform functionality and infrastructure to improve reliability and observability.
  • Collaborate with small cross-functional teams, product managers, and domain experts to define what to build and how to build it.
  • Engage directly with users and partners to gather feedback, understand challenges, and shape product decisions.
  • Drive and promote development best practices and technical excellence across the engineering team.
  • Iterate quickly by delivering incremental, small slices of functionality and reacting to user needs.
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD, deployment and monitoring systems to support rapid release cycles.
  • Share knowledge, mentor peers, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and constructive feedback.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a full-stack engineer, including direct experience working with customers or end users.
  • Pragmatic, delivery-focused approach that prioritises iteration and customer value over process and deliberation.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback and contributing to a collaborative engineering culture.
  • Familiarity with C#/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript and React (listed as desirable but commonly used on the team).
  • Experience with an OOP language (e.g., Java, C++) and a modern JS framework (e.g., Angular, Vue) is desirable.
  • Experience working on a distributed, cloud-hosted product with rapid release cycles and strong observability.
  • Experience working in agile teams and delivering incremental releases to meet user needs.
  • Right to work and be based in the United Kingdom and available for a full-time, remote Monday–Friday role.
  • Willingness to use and explore LLMs and internal AI development tools to support engineering work (desirable).
