Description

  • Lead frontend architecture decisions and define modernization strategy for enterprise retail and supply chain UIs.
  • Design scalable UI solutions and shared component libraries to replace legacy frontend platforms.
  • Drive best practices in code quality, testing, and CI/CD automation across frontend teams.
  • Define and implement testing strategies, including Playwright for E2E and Jest for unit testing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, DevOps, and product stakeholders to align on requirements and integrations.
  • Mentor and coach mid-level engineers to raise frontend engineering standards and promote engineering excellence.
  • Plan and execute phased migration from legacy systems to the modern frontend architecture while minimizing business disruption.
  • Ensure performance optimization and monitoring of UIs using observability tools and incorporate real-world user feedback into improvements.

Requirements

  • Must reside and have work authorization in Latin America.
  • Availability to work with significant overlap with Mountain Standard Time (MST).
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in Frontend Engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with React and strong experience using NextJS.
  • Advanced expertise in TypeScript, including complex type modeling and scalable architecture patterns.
  • Experience designing and maintaining shared component libraries and design systems.
  • Proven experience integrating with Java/Spring services and Postgres-backed APIs.
  • Deep experience with Playwright (E2E) and Jest (unit testing) and strong understanding of enterprise testing strategies for data-heavy UIs.
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab and implementing monitoring/observability strategies using Datadog.
  • Experience leading frontend modernization initiatives and designing phased modernization strategies over legacy backend systems.
  • Retail, store operations, or supply chain system experience is a strong plus.
  • Android and/or iOS frontend experience is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (C1 preferred; strong B2 may be considered).
