Description

  • Develop and maintain a robust monitoring and observability framework to support performance, reliability, and early issue detection.
  • Design, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure in collaboration with the R&D team.
  • Own incident management processes, including on-call, postmortems, SLOs, and error budgets.
  • Manage and optimize web servers, relational databases, and Linux-based systems.
  • Use Docker for containerization and manage orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or AWS ECS.
  • Build and maintain scalable and secure cloud-based solutions using AWS services.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Security, Developer Support, and Deployment Support teams to troubleshoot issues and improve deployment workflows.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure and deployments, including access management, vulnerability scanning, and incident response.
  • Support compliance efforts and help foster a strong DevSecOps culture across the engineering team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineer, or Systems Engineer role, ideally in SaaS.
  • Experience working remotely from anywhere in Switzerland or on-site in St. Gallen.
  • Strong experience with Nginx, relational databases such as MySQL, including replication and performance tuning, and Linux systems such as Amazon Linux, CentOS, or RedHat.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or AWS ECS.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, or OpenSearch.
  • Experience using Terraform to create infrastructure as code for scalable environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of Puppet configuration management is a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana.
  • Experience applying SRE principles such as SLOs and error budgets, and working with incident management and postmortems.
  • Solid understanding of cloud and DevOps security practices, including IAM, data protection, secrets management, and compliance considerations such as ISO and GDPR.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, distributed team environment and speak fluent English.
