Description

Research and identify potential editorial speakers (authors, business executives, activists, academics) for conferences and events
Pitch and outreach to prospective speakers to secure bookings and confirm participation
Track progress toward booking goals and report on outreach/results
Update and maintain contact management/CRM systems with outreach activity and speaker information
Manage the speaker preparation process, including coordination of logistics and pre-event materials
Engage in conversational outreach that conveys interest, passion, and excitement to secure engagements
Coordinate with internal teams (editorial, events, production) to ensure speakers are prepared and logistics are aligned

Requirements

Minimum 4-year college/university degree
At least 2 years of full-time, professional post-graduation experience
Direct experience in a booking role (e.g., academic speaker series, TV/radio/podcast guests, bookstore readings, business conferences, or similar)
Strong verbal communication and outreach skills with ability to pitch and build relationships with high-profile speakers
Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms (preferred)
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate with urgency and resourcefulness
Strong organizational skills and attention to tracking outreach and booking progress
Willingness and ability to travel periodically to conferences (every few weeks in fall, winter, and spring)
