Description

  • Build and lead an AI-native engineering function with clear standards, fast shipping, and strong production discipline.
  • Improve core distributed systems, backend architecture, data ingestion layers, search, quoting, data management, payments, reporting, and internal copilots.
  • Design the harnesses that make agentic engineering reliable, including repo instructions, MCP tools, scripts, hooks, CI gates, evals, observability, permissions, and review loops.
  • Use Claude Code, Codex, and related tools as a primary development interface.
  • Create a safe contribution path for non-engineers using AI tools while maintaining rigorous engineering review loops.
  • Turn messy operational constraints into simple, durable systems.
  • Recruit, coach, and raise the engineering bar for a lean, elite engineering team.
  • Work closely with growth, sales, operations, and finance to ship software that improves revenue, margin, speed, and customer experience.
  • Own complex production systems and the technical architecture, infrastructure stability, and core business partnerships supporting them.

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack engineering background with a heavy backend bias.
  • Experience owning complex production systems that customers or business operators depend on daily.
  • Experience in early-stage, high-growth tech environments and lean, efficient teams.
  • Strong leadership experience building, mentoring, and managing engineering teams or technical pods.
  • Daily hands-on use of coding agents and deep understanding of their strengths, limitations, and failure modes.
  • Frequent power-user experience with Claude, Codex, Cursor, or similar tools.
  • A portfolio, GitHub repo, Loom, write-up, or other concrete example of an application or product you built from scratch.
  • Strong proficiency with Python, PostgreSQL, Django, FastAPI, and associated ORM frameworks.
  • Ability to decompose ambiguous work into technical specs, discrete tasks, automated tests, evals, and reviewable artifacts.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to move from a business bottleneck to a clean technical design without needing everything pre-specified.
  • Creative thinking and ability to identify innovative growth opportunities and experiment with new approaches.
  • Ability to detect when a generative agent is solving the wrong problem, overfitting to a test, hallucinating confidence, or harming maintainability.
  • Deep commitment to verification through tests, logs, traces, screenshots, PR reviews, evals, and hard evidence.
  • Ability to lead people, set standards, give direct feedback, and build a team that improves over time.
  • Bonus: experience building internal productivity tools, CRM engines, or operations dashboards.
  • Bonus: experience with high-volume data scraping, browser automation, data parsing, or complex third-party API integrations.
  • Bonus: experience with communications automation, Slack, WhatsApp, HubSpot, payment gateways, workflow orchestration, or data-heavy analytical dashboards.
  • Bonus: having built a technical product from scratch that generated $100k+ revenue or 100k+ active users.
  • Bonus: experience co-founding or starting a company.
  • Bonus: experience setting up AI guardrails such as review policies, IP and data-handling practices, access controls, model/tool selection, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Must be able to work US/EST shift timings.
