Description

  • Lead the Leverage Engineering Pod strategy and execution across Foundations Engineering, Builder Experience, and Solutions Engineering.
  • Define how leverage is measured across Product and Engineering and prove the Pod's impact with data.
  • Drive adoption of shared frameworks and services and reduce duplicated effort across engineering teams.
  • Modernize the product development lifecycle by improving delivery practices and advancing AI-assisted and agentic development.
  • Stand up and lead the Solutions Engineering function, including agency partner selection, contracting, and handoff to internal ownership.
  • Own the Pod's vision, roadmap, and investment case and prioritize work across multiple squads.
  • Protect the Pod from becoming a catch-all for unowned work through disciplined intake and scope management.
  • Hire, develop, and retain engineering managers and senior individual contributors across the Pod.
  • Partner with senior engineering leadership, platform engineering, and design system teams on shared technical strategy.
  • Own the Pod budget across tooling and agency spend and ensure it delivers measurable throughput.

Requirements

  • 3+ years leading engineering organizations as a Director or Senior Engineering Manager, including managing managers.
  • Experience leading engineering teams through significant company scale and growth.
  • Experience leading a platform, foundations, or developer-productivity organization that serves other engineering teams.
  • Experience selecting agencies or outsourced teams, managing statements of work, and ensuring clean handoffs.
  • Daily use of AI development tools and experience changing how a team builds software with them.
  • Track record of attracting, developing, and retaining strong engineers and future leaders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive and technical audiences.
  • Ability to mention "coffee" in the application as requested.
  • Preferred: experience building applications with Ruby on Rails and React.
  • Preferred: experience with professional services, field engineering, or partner delivery functions inside a product company.
  • Preferred: experience treating an internal platform as a product, including adoption metrics, customer discovery, and deprecation management.
  • Preferred: familiarity with native mobile development for iOS and Android apps.
