Description

  • Serve as a legal partner to business teams across corporate, commercial, technology, regulatory, compliance, employment, privacy, data security, and operational matters.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, including SaaS, AI, vendor, technology, data, confidentiality, service, and licensing contracts.
  • Manage contract matters end-to-end, including intake, drafting, negotiation, stakeholder alignment, risk escalation, and final execution.
  • Maintain corporate securities filings with the SEC, including Form 4, Form S-8, Form 8-K, and similar filings.
  • Provide legal guidance on corporate transactions and agreements.
  • Develop and improve legal templates, contract playbooks, clause libraries, approval workflows, intake processes, and scalable legal operations.
  • Assist with regulatory and compliance-related contract issues involving employment, privacy, data security, consumer protection, SEC, and financial technology.
  • Support disputes and coordinate with outside counsel when needed.
  • Perform special legal projects for senior leadership.
  • Support strategic initiatives affecting the People, Product, and Business Development teams.
  • Manage non-U.S. subsidiary corporate governance compliance requirements for foreign entities.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Eligibility to practice as in-house counsel in the District of Columbia if not admitted there.
  • 4+ years of relevant legal experience.
  • Strong business judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize material legal risk.
  • Ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience with legal contract management software, such as Salesforce (preferred).
