Description

  • Design and oversee high-scale, mission-critical production systems that are modular, composable, and extensible.
  • Drive the modernization of legacy systems toward a modern target-state architecture.
  • Serve as a bridge between Engineering and non-technical stakeholders such as Product, Security, and Finance.
  • Create technical documentation and system diagrams to communicate architectural direction clearly.
  • Facilitate design sessions and distributed technical conversations while preserving engineering ownership.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, preferably on AWS, with attention to performance, cost, and regional deployment needs.
  • Mentor engineering teams and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Monitor the computing landscape to evaluate dependable current technologies and emerging trends for adoption.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Advanced experience in high-level system and service design for long-term scalability.
  • Deep working knowledge of data persistence layers and when to use different technologies.
  • Significant experience with a major public cloud provider, preferably AWS.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A leadership approach focused on service, collaboration, and supporting teams rather than rigid control.
  • Ability to propose solutions, accept critical feedback, and stay focused on the best product outcome without defensiveness.
  • Proven track record as a domain expert in a focused area such as front-end or data architecture, with broad full-stack understanding.
