Description

  • Own Fi’s data platform and analytics roadmap across device, membership, and operational data.
  • Design and maintain event-driven, incremental pipelines for raw device telemetry and fleet data.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of four analysts while overseeing their work and technical growth.
  • Partner with Finance on forecasting, retention, LTV, unit economics, hardware margins, and board reporting.
  • Partner with Product and Hardware on activation, engagement, device performance, sensor, and firmware analytics.
  • Build self-service BI tools that stakeholders actively use.
  • Design and analyze experiments involving pricing, onboarding, and retention.
  • Position the data team as a strategic business partner rather than a ticket-based service function.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or analytics engineering.
  • Experience building or substantially rebuilding a data function.
  • Experience leading analysts, formally or as a player-coach, with a clear approach to their development.
  • Deep SQL expertise and hands-on experience with modern data warehouse and orchestration tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Airflow, or dbt.
  • Fluency in dimensional and event-driven data modeling, ELT tradeoffs, incremental builds, and cost control.
  • Strong BI experience with Looker, Tableau, Mode, or an equivalent platform.
  • Experience partnering with Finance on forecasts, diligence materials, and margin analysis.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous Series B startup environment and independently solve data problems.
