Description

  • Support delivery of services and meet client delivery commitments as part of the team.
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology-related contracts, including content, software development, professional services, staffing, licensing, IP/IT, and general commercial agreements.
  • Own more complex negotiations and provide oversight and quality control for junior team members.
  • Train and develop junior team members to become skilled negotiators.
  • Adhere to delivery processes and operational commitments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client negotiation processes, procedures, and long-term relationships.
  • Enter, manage, and maintain accurate data in Factor and client systems.
  • Help develop contract templates, playbooks, and other team tools.
  • Stay current on legal and other relevant developments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of client service and value delivery.

Requirements

  • Law degree and/or legal qualification.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country where the role is based.
  • 4+ years of experience independently drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a law firm, in-house legal team, or at Factor.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience working directly with business managers.
  • Ability to operate with substantial latitude and minimal or no supervision.
  • Senior-advisor-level legal knowledge with the ability to act as an escalation point for junior team members.
  • Very strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Very strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • Experience in client relationship management.
  • Experience working with a recognized matter management system as part of a daily routine.
  • Preferred qualities include adaptability, authenticity, accountability, and a values-driven, team-oriented approach.
  • Experience working in financial regulations, corporate restructuring, commercial, or financial services contract negotiation is relevant to the role.
