Description

  • Manage and scale the Planning Leadership Team, coaching managers to develop top talent and deliver high-quality advice.
  • Oversee the strategic health and capacity of the planning organization to balance workforce demand with member experience.
  • Serve as the VP of Planning & Member Experience’s operational proxy and make independent tactical decisions as needed.
  • Own core performance metrics including pod NPS, planner capacity, and member action on advice.
  • Lead adoption of new technology and help planners become more effective through AI-fluent, tech-integrated workflows.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality member experiences across all touchpoints through functional alignment.
  • Translate complex business strategies into clear messaging that inspires action and supports talent growth.
  • Guide the team through structural and operational change while maintaining performance and morale.
  • Coach planners and leaders on the human side of financial advice, including empathy, connection, and behavior change.

Requirements

  • CFP® designation is required.
  • 12+ years of experience in financial planning or related services, with direct experience as a financial planner.
  • 5+ years of manager-of-managers experience.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, emotional intelligence, and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience leading large organizations of 50+ people through rapid growth and change.
  • Experience with financial technology is a plus.
  • Experience in specialized advice such as tax, estate planning, or insurance is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders and build a high-performing leadership bench.
  • Strong adaptability, process orientation, and ability to build structured frameworks and feedback loops.
  • High empathy and the ability to build trust, handle pushback, and lead teams through change.
