Description

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with key personnel in assigned vertical markets.
  • Prospect, sell, and secure orders from existing and prospective customers using a relationship-based approach.
  • Coordinate internal support, service, management, and specialist resources to meet customer expectations and performance goals.
  • Lead account planning for one- and three-year periods, including performance objectives, financial targets, and milestones.
  • Assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead solution development efforts that address customer needs and involve the necessary company personnel.
  • Develop and present written proposals, quotations, and customer presentations.
  • Generate new business by managing territory opportunities, researching prospects, and analyzing market potential.
  • Resolve customer problems and complaints and coordinate follow-up across sales, marketing, accounting, logistics, and technical service teams.
  • Provide management with regular reports, accurate weekly sales forecasts, and updates on competitive activity and market conditions.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of commercial software, storage, or networking engineering experience.
  • Ability to work in a field sales role with about 25% domestic travel.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Experience managing relationships with strategically important large customers.
  • Experience preparing sales forecasts, proposals, and presentations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with market analysis, competitive positioning, and customer value planning is preferred.
  • Ability to complete required training and development objectives within the assigned timeframe.
