Description

  • Own the SOX control environment end-to-end, including RCMs, narratives, flowcharts, control design, and risk alignment across key business processes.
  • Manage quarterly SOX refresh cycles and ensure control execution evidence is complete and audit-ready.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, coordinating walkthroughs, testing requests, and issue resolution.
  • Lead technical accounting research and develop policy memos on revenue recognition, digital assets, equity, derivatives, and M&A.
  • Own the accounting policy framework by drafting new policies, updating existing ones, and implementing new GAAP standards on time.
  • Partner with accounting, IT, and cross-functional teams on system implementations and process changes to embed scalable controls.
  • Proactively identify accounting and control risks, communicate impacts to leadership, and drive resolution ahead of quarter-end and audit milestones.

Requirements

  • CPA with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field and public accounting experience.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including leadership experience in a public company environment.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance.
  • Experience coordinating SOX testing, audits, and remediation activities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to document and defend technical accounting positions with auditors.
  • Must be comfortable working in Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or a similar ERP system such as SAP or Oracle is a plus.
  • Experience in crypto, fintech, SaaS, or digital assets is preferred.
  • M&A background is preferred.
