Description

  • Serve as the Primary Compliance Officer for Alpaca Singapore and act as the main liaison with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
  • Maintain a comprehensive compliance framework and monitoring plan aligned to the company’s brokerage and technology-driven business model.
  • Interpret new and evolving regulatory requirements and lead implementation across business teams.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory filings, notifications, returns, and responses to MAS.
  • Oversee the end-to-end AML/CFT program, including onboarding, KYC, CDD/EDD, ongoing monitoring, transaction surveillance, STRs, and sanctions screening.
  • Maintain AML/CFT policies and procedures aligned with MAS requirements and global regulatory expectations.
  • Oversee compliance training for Singapore staff and relevant HQ teams supporting local operations.
  • Support new product and business initiatives by providing compliance risk assessments and regulatory guidance.
  • Lead internal compliance reviews, thematic assessments, and remediation of control gaps.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Technology Risk, Operations, and global teams to embed compliance across the business.

Requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in Singapore’s securities and brokerage regulatory landscape.
  • Deep experience with MAS regulations, licensing obligations, and relevant notices and guidelines, including SFA, FAA, AML/CFT Notices, and Outsourcing.
  • Experience serving as a Compliance Officer, AML Officer, or MLRO in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong risk judgment and the ability to assess the impact of changing regulations on business operations.
  • Experience overseeing AML/CFT controls such as KYC, CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, and suspicious transaction reporting.
  • Experience preparing regulatory filings, notifications, and responses to a financial regulator.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, Technology Risk, Operations, and global teams.
  • Experience building governance structures, internal controls, reporting lines, and escalation processes.
  • Experience supporting incident management and regulatory reporting timelines.
  • Experience in brokerage infrastructure, platform businesses, or technology-driven financial services is preferred.
