Description

  • Design and implement components of the next-generation platform architecture.
  • Build new services and APIs that gradually replace or extend legacy functionality.
  • Maintain and support existing production systems that the business depends on.
  • Implement targeted improvements and stability fixes while minimizing disruption.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational risk and technical debt through modernization.
  • Improve observability, documentation, and operational reliability of legacy components.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Participate in architecture discussions about system evolution and modernization strategy.
  • Collaborate with platform, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver incremental improvements.
  • Use agentic development tools such as Codex, Claude Code, or similar AI coding agents.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
  • Experience building on database platforms such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience building scalable microservices.
  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools.
  • Full-stack development experience with languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#, or Scala.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, and Loki.
  • Experience working with existing systems or mature codebases, not just greenfield development.
  • Experience guiding or mentoring junior engineers.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and system analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with version control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to reason about system design, architecture trade-offs, and technical debt.
  • Experience with system modernization or platform evolution projects (preferred).
  • Experience integrating legacy applications with modern services or APIs (preferred).
  • Background working in environments transitioning from monoliths to service-oriented architectures (preferred).
