Description

  • Understand how features work and identify potential failure modes and risk areas.
  • Review requirements and user stories to uncover gaps, edge cases, and testing risks.
  • Design and execute functional, integration, performance, and reliability tests.
  • Build and maintain automated tests for APIs, services, and user workflows.
  • Work with developers to reproduce issues, diagnose problems, and verify fixes.
  • Help the team ship quickly while maintaining product quality.
  • Improve test automation, testing approaches, and development workflows.
  • Maintain test environments used by engineering and QA.
  • Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted tools, to improve testing coverage and efficiency.
  • Review AI-generated code or tests to ensure they are correct and cover meaningful scenarios.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering.
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Ruby.
  • Experience writing scripts using tools such as Bash.
  • Comfort working in Linux or Unix environments.
  • Experience designing and executing automated tests.
  • Ability to think critically about systems and identify failure scenarios.
  • Curiosity and willingness to ask questions and dig into how things work.
  • Interest in modern engineering practices including automation, cloud systems, and AI-assisted development.
  • Familiarity with Agile development environments (preferred).
  • Experience testing distributed systems and microservices architectures (preferred).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (preferred).
  • Experience with containerized environments such as Docker or Kubernetes (preferred).
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI pipelines such as Jenkins or GitLab (preferred).
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, or Rest Assured (preferred).
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools such as k6, Gatling, Locust, or JMeter (preferred).
  • Ability to write SQL queries and validate data across large datasets (preferred).
  • Experience using logs, metrics, and observability tools to diagnose system behavior (preferred).
  • Experience reviewing or validating AI-generated code or test automation (preferred).
