Description

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Produce consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and implement new accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Help evaluate, select, and deploy financial systems to support business growth.
  • Optimize financial systems and processes to efficiently record and post financial transactions.
  • Establish, implement, maintain, and monitor accounting control procedures and significant accounting policies.
  • Manage the order-to-cash process, including customer contract review, invoicing, and revenue recognition treatment.
  • Develop and standardize accounting and operational policies and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Manage special projects such as audit preparation, system implementations, and FP&A support.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop accounting team members as the function grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field, or a professional certification.
  • CPA or CMA license is a plus, but not required.
  • Proven experience in a finance/accounting role within a high-tech startup environment.
  • Experience with a SaaS company is preferred.
  • Knowledge of non-GAAP industry metrics applicable to SaaS companies.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or ERP implementations.
  • Working knowledge of business systems supporting revenue recognition, CRM integration, commission reporting, sales tax reporting, and analytics.
  • Strong ability to work independently, multitask, think critically, and solve problems in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Experience managing the procure-to-pay process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven cross-functional collaboration ability.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a hands-off management environment and can operate with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple requests, projects, and deadlines.
  • Willingness to build processes in an early-stage startup environment rather than follow an existing playbook.
  • Alignment with Ethena’s values and passion for the company’s mission.
  • Comfort using AI and automation tools to improve financial operations.
