Description

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting and financial regulations, including GAAP, IRS requirements, SEC reporting, and SOX where applicable.
  • Provide guidance to bookkeepers and finance support staff so transactions are coded and structured correctly for accounting and tax purposes.
  • Improve and modernize financial processes by identifying opportunities for automation and better workflow design.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement AI-powered and finance technology tools to improve reporting speed, accuracy, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Design scalable accounting and finance processes for a growing business with a focus on efficiency and control.
  • Present financial insights and recommendations clearly to company leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Assess the operational, compliance, privacy, data integrity, and audit trail implications of new AI and financial tools.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in U.S. accounting, financial compliance, and reporting.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IRS regulations, and general U.S. financial controls.
  • Exposure to SEC reporting and SOX is a plus.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based entities and advising on accounting treatment, financial structure, and compliance decisions.
  • Ability to guide bookkeepers and finance support staff with a strong understanding of transaction classification and management.
  • Experience improving finance processes, reporting workflows, and planning practices.
  • Openness to AI tools, automation, and modern finance systems.
  • Strong strategic thinking, ownership, and communication skills.
  • CPA or equivalent strong U.S. accounting certification/background is preferred.
  • Experience in multi-entity or multi-state U.S. businesses is preferred.
  • Experience implementing financial systems, automation, or AI-enabled finance tools is preferred.
