Description

  • Lead the IT change portfolio of strategic programmes, tracking delivery, financial performance, and value capture.
  • Manage suppliers and statements of work across strategic delivery initiatives.
  • Set up and facilitate programme governance forums and design authorities, and lead supplier meetings as needed.
  • Provide matrix management for project and programme managers across the portfolio.
  • Plan, govern, and deliver multiple concurrent workstreams spanning organisational design, processes, tooling, sourcing, capability uplift, risk, and compliance.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and align efforts across multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop business cases and benefits cases, and manage project finances.
  • Champion project management practices, coach teams, maintain standards, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Lead change management activities to support adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Partner with business leaders and senior stakeholders to align transformation initiatives with organisational goals and report progress regularly.

Requirements

  • Experience leading multi-programme portfolios at £10m+ equivalent scale, including financial management and ROI tracking.
  • Experience delivering multiple large-scale programmes in the technology sector at senior programme manager level or above.
  • Experience working in both agile product development environments and structured programme environments.
  • Proven experience leading IT transformation, digital transformation, or large-scale IT modernisation initiatives.
  • Experience providing people leadership for project and programme managers in a portfolio-based environment.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, SaaS platforms, agile software development, and emerging technologies.
  • Certification in programme and project management such as PMP, PRINCE2, or AgilePM, or IT frameworks is preferred.
  • Strong influencing skills with a collaborative leadership style rather than a command-and-control approach.
  • Comfort operating in federated environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work at multiple levels and manage competing priorities driven by senior management.
