Description

  • Champion and evolve the long-term QA strategy across the studio.
  • Refine and scale quality KPIs, release management protocols, and testing frameworks for a continuous live service environment.
  • Oversee QA budgeting, resource allocation, vendor strategy, and external test partnerships.
  • Ensure 1st party platform compliance across PC, console, and mobile releases.
  • Direct, mentor, and manage the Associate QA Director.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Production, and Studio Directors to align QA with Agile development and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Lead the adoption of AI and other advanced testing methods within the QA organization.
  • Drive automation, backend service testing, and data-driven QA practices to improve workflows.
  • Support milestone-driven test execution across pre-launch, launch, and ongoing live service content.

Requirements

  • Senior-level leadership experience in game development QA, with a Director-level or equivalent background.
  • Proven experience shipping and sustaining large-scale live service games on PC, consoles, and mobile.
  • Strong ability to manage and mentor senior QA staff and distributed internal and external testing teams.
  • Deep understanding of live service release management and testing client features alongside backend services.
  • Expert-level knowledge of JIRA or similar bug/defect tracking tools.
  • Experience with UE4/UE5, Perforce, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience integrating QA strategies into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to advocate for quality at the executive level.
  • Strong self-motivation and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience with advanced testing methodologies such as automation, AI-assisted testing, backend service testing, or data-driven QA (preferred).
