Description

  • Own the protocol architecture across smart contracts, backend settlement and accounting systems, and institutional frontend dashboards.
  • Design and maintain the position lifecycle engine, including origination, funding, accrual, partial repayment, recall, and closure.
  • Architect a shared accounting layer for multiple lending modules and model settlement, collateral custody, yield attribution, and reconciliation flows.
  • Ensure correctness through idempotency, audit trails, and immutable state history.
  • Audit the inherited backend and frontend codebase and determine the right refactor-versus-rewrite approach.
  • Own backend services including REST APIs, settlement engine services, accounting services, and WebSocket feeds.
  • Extend and optimize the Rust indexer for new ledger event types.
  • Lead DAML smart contract design for lending and staking modules and define on-chain versus off-chain boundaries.
  • Guide frontend architecture for data-dense institutional dashboards such as portfolio views, real-time position tracking, and yield analytics.
  • Hire, lead, and unblock a small engineering team while running sprint planning and partnering with the CEO on technical decisions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in fullstack or backend engineering.
  • 2-3+ years in a technical lead or architect role.
  • Production functional programming experience with Haskell, Scala, OCaml, or an equivalent language.
  • Background in financial services, fintech, or high-growth startups building systems with correctness requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with TypeScript/NestJS or Rust.
  • Comfort owning both backend and frontend work.
  • Experience hiring and managing small, growing engineering teams.
  • Smart contract or distributed ledger experience on any chain is a strong plus.
  • Strong functional programming instincts and ability to ramp quickly into DAML.
  • Passion for early-stage, zero-to-one environments with speed, ownership, and resourcefulness.
