Description

  • Lead frontend engineering by defining the technical direction for the platform.
  • Set and enforce architecture standards, code patterns, and conventions across the frontend codebase.
  • Design and maintain a high-integrity component library using Storybook and shadcn/ui as the visual source of truth.
  • Own quality, CI/CD, merge readiness, regression testing, and rollback strategies for production releases.
  • Build scaffolding, documented workflows, reusable primitives, and guardrails that enable broader team contribution.
  • Design custom linting, TypeScript conventions, and PR checks to keep AI-assisted code production-ready.
  • Own the sandbox environment and middleware stack used for rapid feature iteration and validation.
  • Manage the API layer and schema changes needed to ship frontend features independently.
  • Architect data-fetching, caching, global state, and distributed caching strategies for responsive UI performance.
  • Partner with backend engineering on long-running jobs, real-time updates, and the transition of features from sandbox to production.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
  • Frontend specialization with the ability to work across the stack when needed.
  • Experience building developer experience tools, workflows, or platforms that help others ship faster.
  • Comfort working with Express.js routes and PostgreSQL schemas in a frontend-led environment.
  • Strong understanding of the difference between a working UI and a resilient, production-grade UI.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • AI-native mindset and enthusiasm for enabling safe, scalable AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Experience with the listed stack: Vite, React 18, Wouter, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, TanStack Query, Zod, Express.js, Node.js, Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL), WebSockets, AWS Amplify/Cognito, AppSyncEvents/GraphQL, and OpenAPI.
  • Familiarity with reliability and testing tools such as Storybook, Playwright/Cypress, Vitest, jest-dom, visual regression tools, and GitHub workflows.
  • Interest in owning a platform, not just delivering a feature list.
