Description

  • Review machine learning papers and benchmark leaderboards to identify key technical details.
  • Extract, compile, and validate information from a wide variety of sources.
  • Track benchmark scores and other AI model evaluation data.
  • Analyze satellite images and permits to estimate and monitor data center infrastructure.
  • Review financial disclosures and news media for information about AI companies.
  • Work with the research team to produce Data Insights and related products.
  • Report findings and discuss progress with a supervisor.
  • Produce informed estimates about the physical infrastructure supporting AI using limited information.

Requirements

  • Interest in or understanding of a broad range of technical AI topics, especially model evaluations and data centers.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines reliably.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to systematically extract key information from multiple source types.
  • Professional-level English proficiency.
  • Applications and all materials must be submitted in English.
  • Availability to overlap with UTC-7/8 (Pacific Time) for occasional meetings.
  • Fully remote work arrangement; candidates from most time zones are welcome.
  • Candidates working from China are not eligible for contracts.
  • Experience with AI research, machine learning literature, or data analysis is a plus.

Benefits

  • Hourly compensation of $30–40 USD.
  • Estimated 10–30 hours per week, with more hours potentially available up to full-time.
