Description

  • Provide network and systems support for client environments.
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, diagnose, and resolve network and systems problems.
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues affecting client end systems.
  • Work rotating shifts in a 24x7x365 team environment while exercising independent judgment.
  • Manage assigned tickets and projects, ensuring timely and accurate closure.
  • Follow issues through to resolution and communicate escalations to management.
  • Comply with internal and client processes and procedural changes.
  • Maintain technical expertise in networking and keep current with computing technology developments.
  • Maintain toolkit inventory and replace equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years of networking experience.
  • 1–3 years of field experience and client-facing experience.
  • CCNA certification upon hire or within six months of employment.
  • Experience or training with Cisco, Nortel, 3Com, Microsoft NT, Novell NetWare, or VMware.
  • Understanding of at least two routing protocols, such as IP, IPX, EIGRP, OSPF, or RIP.
  • Ability to perform basic protocol analysis using a LAN analyzer.
  • Understanding of WAN/LAN concepts, interfaces, protocols, topology, VLAN, and ATM switching.
  • Experience with technologies such as Cisco IOS, NetWare, NT, Unix, NICs, Frame Relay, CSU/DSU, T1, ATM, CiscoWorks, DHCP, or DNS.
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance-tuning, oral communication, and written communication skills.
